世界に伝えたい真実の物語

 

 

本日、東北地方で支援活動を続けている監督より一枚の写真が届きましたので
監督からのメーッセージとともに紹介致します。



【original message】
I don't like to take pictures from the work field because its too terrible, and I am not here to take souvenir photos. BUT, this struck me as so symbolic of the strength of the Japanese spirit.

Amidst the total devastation this Torii stood alone, completely unscathed. The shine that was behind it is completely gone, but the wooden Torri stands to remind us of the strength and the will of the Japanese people.

It reminded me of a photo from Nagasaki after the atomic bomb.. where all had been destroyed, but in the field of wreckage stood a single Torri. Burned,.. but still standing strong.

Gambare Japan! -Never give up.

【日本語訳】
あまりの惨状を目の前にした私は、写真を撮るべきかどうかを
とても躊躇いました。

なぜなら私が、この地を訪れた理由は、写真を撮る為ではないからです。

 

しかし、これはとても、日本人の魂の強さを象徴していると私は感じました。

 

惨状のなかに、鳥居は、しっかりとその姿を残し、佇んでいました。

過去のものとなってしまった以前の風景は、全てなくなってしまっても、

木製の鳥居だけが立っている光景は、日本の人々の強さと意思を
私たちに思い出させてくれます。

 

それは私に原子爆弾が落とされた後の長崎の写真を思い出させました。

見渡す限り、すべてが破壊された残骸の中で、ひとつの鳥居は耐え抜いていました。

すべてが燃やされたあとでも、ただ耐えて、強く立っていたのです...。

 

がんばれ日本！決してあきらめないでください！
